Dr.
Shapiro received his undergraduate degree from the State University
of New York at Stony Brook. He continued his education with
graduate work in industrial engineering and operations research
at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated
from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1982.
After
a year of postgraduate education, Dr. Shapiro continued his
academic affiliations with teaching positions in Prosthodontics
and Cosmetic Dentistry. In addition to being a visiting lecturer
at New York University College of Dentistry, Dr. Shapiro lectures
internationally, teaching dentists the newest methods in Cosmetic
and Reconstructive Dentistry. He is one of a small number
of members accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry, and served as President of its New York Chapter.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. In addition
to authoring many articles and appearing in many consumer
publications, he consults with several of the dental industries
leading manufacturers in the areas of product development
and clinical testing of materials and techniques. Dr. Shapiro
is also a team dentist for the New York Rangers.
